Our Teachers

We have been blessed to be taught by amazing humans.

The Twisty Twinz, Jola and Nele Siezen are Duo Acrobats from Christchurch, New Zealand.  We met this dynamic duo at the Circulation Festival on 11.11.11.   They specialize in unique aerial silk shows, Adagio, and acrobatic  performances. They taught us new tricks and spotted us in some technical flying and we made up a few new moves of our own. We were lucky enough to watch the twisty twins perform at Berlin Burlesque Tour 2011One of the best burlesque shows we have ever seen.  Their spirits, hearts, and love is just as amazing as their performances and teachings.  We are lucky enough to have learned from the TwistyTwinz and hope hope our paths keep on twisting.

Kuia Olive Bullock (Nga Raura, Nga Ruahinerangi, Ati Haunui a Paparangi) is the Kaitohuora and Kaiwhakahaere of Te Kopere, Rongoa Maori Healing School and Clinic in the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand.  We worked with Aunty Olive in October 2011 where we learned about Traditional Rongoa Maori classes include Tikanga (tribal customs), karakia (prayer), romiromi (massage), mirimiri (light tissue massage), nga rongoa (herbal medicines), honohono (energy work), hikoi moemoea (guided meditation), waiata (song) and mahi matekite (spiritual insight).  Aunty Olive is a divine spirit and we are blessed to have her as one of our teachers.

Saul David Raye known for empowering and transforming his students. He taught us in Ojai in 2009, where we learned how to connect more deeply with own authentic power and spirit through his Ritam Thai Massage Training. He also is our teacher at Exhale in Venice, CA.  The greatest thing he has taught us is to, “teach what you know” and that is what we do today.

Yogi Hendlin popped into our lives and was one of Sara’s first acroyoga teachers.  He is full of metta and is an impeccable teacher, fabulous student, and a lover of life.  Yogi will also tantalize you when he plays his hung drum and most likely wow you with the amount of information he knows about politics and the environment. Without Yogi’s spark, Koha Yoga would not be where it is at today.
